Job Description: Business Development, Refrigeration

Position: Sales Manager Refrigeration UK & Ireland

Reporting To: Sales Director UK, Ireland & Scandinavia.

Base: Theale, near Reading, Berkshire.

Territory: UK & Ireland (plus exceptional support to other regions)

Key Objectives:

In this role, you will have two main areas of responsibility. Firstly, you will take over the responsibility for Emerson’s existing business relationship with leading commercial refrigeration OEMs in the UK and Ireland. This task involves the management of the assigned customer accounts to strengthen the business relationship, achieve customer satisfaction and meet Emerson’s business objectives.

Secondly, you will also develop Emerson’s presence in the commercial refrigeration market place by building strong relationships with contractors, consultants and end-users who deal with commercial refrigeration equipment. A key objective is to seek and drive new business opportunities within the territory.

Key responsibilities:

 Represent Emerson in existing customer accounts in the commercial refrigeration industry and manage technical and commercial aspects of the business relationship to assigned accounts.

 Develop a network of contacts throughout the refrigeration value chain including but not limited to OEMs, end users, contractors & consultants.

 Identification of new business opportunities through existing and new customers, via existing and/or new market segments.

 Representation of the Emerson in industry bodies.

 Planning and implementation of product releases and sales campaigns in the assigned territory by means of promotional activities, training sessions, seminars and visits on site.

 Coordination of adequate engineering support and training for your customers.

 Capture market trends and report them clearly to Emerson management.

 You will be expected to travel extensively in the territory (UK and Ireland) and also to other Emerson locations in Europe as required.

Administrative tasks:

 Prepare a monthly report on the activities which have been done, new contacts, actions and sales results.

 Assist with monthly sales and operations planning processes.

 Assist management with market surveys regarding competition, market shares and other business metrics.

The Candidate:


 have a first-level or higher degree or equivalent in a technical/engineering subject with strong academic results. Your ability to learn new subjects quickly have helped you in the past and give you confidence in your future success.

 are an HVACR professional with a strong technical grasp, a track record in the application of new technologies to solve existing customer challenges but also to create new innovative solutions.

 have entrepreneurial drive and the ability build trustful relationships both inside and outside the company and seek to create win-win situations. You gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity and authenticity.

 are self-motivated and well-organised, but a team player. You plan and prioritize your work to meet commitments.

 are emotionally resilient and flexible.

 address tasks with high energy and enthusiasm, always looking for new opportunities.

 can handle complexity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
