AMP charity cyclists raise over £7,000
4th July 2014UK: The team from air conditioning distributor AMP raised more than £7,000 from its recent participation in the London to Brighton charity cycle ride.
The 30-strong AMP Dream Team – sponsored by Toshiba and comprising AMP staff, family members, customers and suppliers – joined some 28,000 cyclists who took part in this year’s 54-mile event.
AMP’s participation was part of the company’s 25th anniversary celebrations, and just one of the activities the company is undertaking over the year to mark its Jubilee milestone.
Polly McConachie, AMP director, said: “It was a fantastic day and everyone entered into the spirit. People were extremely generous and we beat our initial fundraising target of £5,000, which looked quite a challenge at the outset.”
The British Heart Foundation’s London to Brighton bike ride is the longest established and best supported event of its kind in the world, starting at Clapham Common in South London and ending on Brighton’s seafront.
