US ac shipments down

39650424_sUSA: Shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps in the US totalled 488,464 units in September, down 9.5% on September last year.

The biggest drop was in air-source heat pumps. These were down 20.3% to 152,597 units, compared to 191,485 units shipped in September 2014.

Year-to-date shipments of central air conditioners increased 3% to 3,824,980 units, compared to the same period in 2014. The poor figures in September mean that year-to-date heat pump shipments are 0.6% down on 2014.
