Cold Chain Federation reveals Summit speakers

UK: The Cold Chain Federation has announced three expert keynote speakers for its second Cold Chain Climate Summit on March 13.

The Summit, which will take place at Warwick University’s The Slate Conference Centre, is expected to welcome over 200 cold chain logistics professionals, sustainability-focussed suppliers from the UK and beyond, key government officials, and leading academics.

Speakers, panellists and delegates will explore the key issues, challenges and opportunities for the cold chain in responding to and preparing for net zero. The event’s morning sessions will focus on climate resilience and the cold chain, and the afternoon session will explore the potential for reviewing temperature setpoints to save energy across the cold chain.

The three keynote speakers announced are Georgios Tetradis-Mairis (head of R&D futures, Nomad Foods), Dr Chloe Brimicombe (climate scientist at the University of Graz, Austria) and Dr Tim Fox (independent consultant in climate change mitigation and adaptation).

Cold Chain Federation executive director Tom Southall said: “Climate change will not only have a significant effect on the way the UK cold chain operates, but it will also change the requirements of our customers and the policy and regulation placed upon us by future Governments.”

The Summit will include a networking lunch and the 2024 Cold Chain Sustainability Awards presentation.

Cold Chain Federation member companies are entitled to one free ticket. Cold Chain Federation member companies can purchase additional tickets at £120.00 + VAT.
