Eurovent makes AHU recommendations

BELGIUM: Eurovent has released its new Recommendation 6/18 on quality criteria for Air Handling Units.

The document provides a comprehensive overview of features that determine highly efficient operation and correct service of AHUs, which are a measure of the a unit’s quality. 

It addresses a wide range of aspects, such as properties of the casing and individual components, energy efficiency and controls requirements, maintainability, and the content of technical documentation. 

The guidelines are intended to help consultants, designers and end-users to assess whether the unit meets all practical expectations and requirements.

Martin Lenz, chairman of the Eurovent’s air handling units product group, said that the recommendations are designed to increase the overall quality level for air handling units worldwide. 

“The most important aspects when designing air handling units are described in detail, but at the same time they are easy to apply, thanks to clear and short concluding recommendations,” he commented.
