One dead in Bronx LD outbreak

USA: One person has died in the legionnaires’ disease outbreak in the Bronx, with the number infected rising to 19, according to the latest NYC health department report. 

Four cooling towers have tested positive for the presence of legionella pneumophila and were immediately ordered to be disinfected.

The community cluster of legionnaires’ disease was first reported in the Highbridge neighbourhood and bordering communities on May 3.
