AHU upgrades fast-tracked across Scottish schools
25th August 2026
UK: Glasgow-based RSG Building Services has carried out a fast-track programme of Carrier AHU replacements across schools in Perth and Kinross and Edinburgh.
The programme formed part of a wider education estate initiative to replace ageing rooftop ventilation systems. The upgrades were designed to improve indoor air quality, support ongoing compliance and enhance energy performance across the school estate.
Working in close collaboration with RSG, Carrier completed rapid site surveys, assessed existing rooftop equipment and specified direct retrofit solutions tailored to each building.
The project included a mix of thirteen Carrier 39CPX compact AHUs and Carrier 39CPL modular AHUs, selected to suit the airflow, spatial and performance requirements of each site.

The project was delivered under significant time pressure. While programmes of this scale are typically planned over 12 months, approvals were received late in the year, leaving only a narrow window to survey, specify, manufacture, deliver, install and commission the systems before the end of the calendar year.
Carrier supported the programme through technical selection, order processing, production planning, logistics coordination, on-site engineering and commissioning. One site required a flat-pack unit to be assembled on the roof due to restricted access, with support from Carrier’s engineering and service teams.
All Perth schools were successfully upgraded within the programme timeframe, with final commissioning completed by early December 2025.
