BRAZIL: Armacell has supplied more than 3km of pipe insulation for chilled water systems at the Brazilian Paralympic Centre in São Paulo.

The R$300m (€82m) centre has served as a training facility for Paralympic athletes practicing for the Rio Paralympics which begins on September 7.

Armacell provided 3350m of AF Armaflex closed cell foam insulation for the chilled water system in the centre, as well as 330m² of sheet insulation.

The new centre is said to be the largest single-venue complex of its kind, accommodating 15 Paralympic sports – athletics, wheelchair basketball, swimming, wheelchair fencing, 5-a-side football, 7-a-side football, goalball, boccia, powerlifting, judo, wheelchair rugby, table tennis, wheelchair tennis, triathlon and sitting volleyball.
