Engie supplies 100MW of cooling for data centres

GERMANY: Engie Refrigeration has received two major orders totalling nearly 100MW of cooling capacity for data centre operators in Asia and Europe.

The cooling and heating specialist from Lindau on Lake Constance is supplying a total of 28 Quantum Air chillers with a total cooling capacity of 58.8MW to a leading data centre operator in Korea.

This is the sixth data centre location in Korea to be jointly managed with Engie Refrigeration’s regional sales partner.

The company is also currently working on a complex data centre project in the Netherlands involving the installation of 16 Quantum water chillers with a total cooling capacity of 36.8MW.

Each chiller is housed in a Genium cooling container, which features additional soundproofing measures to ensure compliance with strict local noise regulations of 70dB sound power level at the new data centre.
