Freor debuts in New Zealand

LITHUANIA: Commercial refrigeration equipment manufacturer Freor has extended its global sales map with its first supermarket installation in New Zealand.

With the help of its sales and maintenance partner in the country Frigie King, Freor’s Hydroloop  Hybrid cooling system using R290 refrigerant in a recently restored Smart Supermarket in Auckland.

As well as using low GWP refrigerant R290, the system also features an extra low refrigerant charge and a very low leakage rate.

The Hydroloop Hybrid system allows the combination of two different heat removal systems. This creates the possibility of switching over between emitting the heat directly into the shop via an air condenser mounted in the equipment in the winter or removing it from the shop via glycol line to the outside in the summer. Reusing the excess condensation heat to warm up the shop and energy-efficient compressors in the system can save up to 25 % of the supermarket’s energy.

The Smart Supermarket was looking for flexible cooling equipment suitable for various products. All the commercial equipment chosen was from Freor’s Green Wave R290 line.

The store employed Jupiter multidecks, consisting of more than 46m in length around the store, for the majority of the fresh product display. The store chose two versions of a multideck chiller – with glass doors for better energy efficiency and an open version for a high sales turnover.

Vega Space QB HG serve-over counters with an enlarged exposition area were chosen to create a visually appealing presentation for the fresh meat display, while Leda horizontal freezers with end cases arranged into 16m long islands were employed for the presentation of frozen goods and ice cream. The encases can be used to display special promos to enhance merchandising.
