Lu-Ve CO2 coolers hit the heights

CHINA: LuVe has supplied 28 air coolers for a newly 62m-high single-storey cold storage warehouse in China, one of the highest fully automated facilities of its type in the world.

Situated in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, the cold store has a capacity of 50,000 tons and a storage capacity of 250,000m3.

The transcritical CO2 refrigeration system features including 24 LuVe Defender LS coolers and four Vantage FHC units to keep the cold store operating between -22°C and -25°C.

Designed specifically for massive distribution hubs, the Defender LS (large surface) series features internally grooved tubes, LuVe’s Turbofin technology, in-line rows and an optimised fin-to-tube ratio. According to LuVe, this specialised design delivers the high cooling capacity and air throw necessary to maintain uniform temperatures across immense vertical spaces.

Temperature stratification, airflow management, and refrigeration efficiency were critical factors in maintaining product quality and operational reliability in a warehouse of this height.
