Panasonic absorption chillers at World Expo

JAPAN: Chilled water for air conditioning at the upcoming 2025 World Expo in Osaka will be supplied by Panasonic absorption chillers.

A total of six absorption chillers, including one waste heat recovery type, have been installed in the supply and processing facility that will serve as the core of the cooling equipment for the Expo.

The cold water will be supplied to the site’s main facilities, including the Expo Hall and Expo Messe, as well as pavilions such as the Gas Pavilion Ghost Wonderland exhibited by the Japan Gas Association.

The 2,000 seat capacity Expo Hall will be used for music, theatre, performing arts, futuristic entertainment, etc. The Expo Messe is a multi-purpose exhibition hall with a total floor area of approximately 4,000m2.

The equipment supplied comprised five F Series CP-type 500RT units and an F Series 500RT CP-type Genelink waste heat waste heat recovery machine.

The 2025 World Expo, which opens on 13 April and closes on 13 October, is expected to attract around 28 million visitors.
