Plug-ins excel with ISA Smartloop

ITALY: Umbria-based commercial refrigeration equipment manufacturer ISA has introduced the Smartloop closed-loop system for use in conjunction with its plug-in R290 display cases.

Used in this way, the Smartloop is described as the ultimate solution for drastically reducing heat input into the sales area, and with the cost and installation time of a plug-in display case, making remote compressors installations unnecessary.

Smartloop is a condensing water-cooling system that is an alternative to a chiller, evaporation tower, or dispersion system using mains water or well water. Unlike common water system chillers, Smartloop system does not involve additional compressors, but expoits an air exchanger to cool the hot water coming from the display cabinet. For this reason it can also be installed indoor in the front-of-house, eg in ice cream parlours near doors and windows, or back-of-house, where natural ventilation is available.

The small footprint of Smartloop combined with its very low noise output make it an optimal solution even in residential settings. Its installation flexibility is also said to result in lower installation costs and time.

Using flexible pipe, no brazing is required for installation and no electrical connections are required between the Smartloop unit and the showcases.

A single Smartloop unit is said to be capable of handling 1 to 3 display cases.
