Carrier unveils TRU electric retrofit solution

FRANCE: Carrier Transicold has unveiled [R]eCool, a 100% electric retrofit solution compatible with Carrier’s Vector diesel trailer refrigeration units.

Introduced at this week’s Solutrans road and urban transport exhibition in Lyon, France, the [R]eCool can convert existing Vector diesel refrigeration units with E-Drive technology installed on semi-trailers into a 100% electric refrigeration solution powered by a high-capacity battery.

Thanks to its E-Drive technology, the hybrid [R]eCool solution can be recharged via the Vector’s generator set and can also be used with a secondhand battery,

Carrier Transicold says that the objectives of the retrofit solution are to remove emissions directly linked to the use of diesel engines in refrigeration systems, including carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides and particulate matter, and to considerably reduce noise emissions, allowing customers’ vehicles to enter low emission zones.
