Cooling film can reduce vehicle cabin temperatures

USA: American multinational conglomerate 3M is launching a cooling film designed to help keep vehicle cabins cooler.
Appropriately called Cooling Film, this roof-applied heat-management solution is said to reflect more than 85% of solar radiation. It is engineered to reduce heat buildup without requiring additional energy, while resisting UV exposure, rain and temperature cycling, and maintaining high reflectivity for years.
3M claims that use of the Cooling Film can reduce interior vehicle temperatures by up to 10°F (5.56ºC).
It is specifically designed for use on vehicle roofs, including last-mile delivery fleets, refrigerated trucks and trailers and passenger rail vehicles.
Carrying a five-year warranty, its durable coating is said to resist dirt, chemicals and wear.
