Mitsubishi offers bolt-on air purifier

UK: Mitsubishi Electric has developed a bolt-on air purifying device for existing air conditioning units that is said to be capable of neutralising indoor pollutants, including inhibiting SARS-CoV-2.
The Plasma Quad Connect is designed for both new and existing installations of Mitsubishi’s M Series, Mr Slim and City Multi indoor units. The Plasma Quad technology is said to significantly improve indoor air quality by neutralising viruses, bacteria, allergens, microscopic particles (PM 2.5), dust and mould.
Also, based on tests conducted at the Microbial Testing Laboratory, Japan Textile Quality and Technology Centre in Kobe, the technology is capable of inhibiting 99.8% of SARS-CoV-2.

In the case of wall-mount units, the Plasma Quad Connect simply mounts onto a metal back plate above the unit. On ducted units, the Plasma Quad Connect slides into a metal fitment, which is screwed onto the back of the ducted unit. With cassette units, it is housed in a casement inside the grille.
