Panasonic takes propane heat pumps to new level

ITALY: Panasonic has announced larger versions of its Aquarea T-CAP M Series propane heat pump for use in multi-family dwellings or commercial buildings.

At the end of last year, Panasonic announced 9, 12 and 16kW versions of the T-CAP M series. Now that has been further extended with the announcement at this week’s Mostra Convengo Expocomfort exhibition in Milan of 20kW, 25kW and 30kW capacity versions. With the possibility of the seamless cascade connection up to 10 units, the Big Aquarea T-CAP M Series could be extended up to 300kW.

The new units are said to be suited to both new construction and retrofitting projects, being easily  integrated with hydronic systems, such as fan coils, floor heating, domestic hot water tanks and especially radiators due to the fact it can achieve 75°C heating water even at -15°C outdoors.

Panasonic’s T-CAP technology is said to enhance Big Aquarea even more at low temperatures, maintaining the capacity even at -20°C outdoors without the use of an electrical heater.

The units, manufactured in Europe, are designed to maximise the performance of the Panasonic inverter compressor, and achieving COPs up to 4.66 at 7/35. It can even sustain capacity at 55°C water outlet down to -15°C outdoor temperature, Panasonic says.

Production will begin in September 2024 in the Czech Republic and in France from April next year.
