Products for five ac&r sectors
CHILLVENTA 2016 PREVIEW: As always one of the largest at the show, this year’s Danfoss stand will be divided into five different areas: food retail, industrial refrigeration, air conditioning, commercial refrigeration and an area dedicated to contractors and wholesalers.
Contractor area
In addition to providing information and apps on the EcoDesign directive and low-GWP refrigerant, Danfoss’ contractor area will also highlight the new Optyma Plus Inverter variable speed condensing unit. Designed for medium temperature refrigeration and approved for use with the lower-GWP refrigerants R407A/F, it is said to be ideal for use in cold rooms, display cabinets, fermentation rooms and for refrigeration applications where accurate temperature and humidity control matter.

Another highlight will be the Danfoss Coolselector 2 calculation tool, which claims to offer easy selection, graphical presentation of pressure drops. It now also encompasses compressors and condensing units, making it a complete selection and calculation tool for refrigeration professionals.
A unique feature of Coolselector 2 is that it offers the user the opportunity to save projects and come back for adjustments and further calculations. As a special preview at Chillventa, Coolselector 2 will feature subsystem calculations for evaporating systems.
Commercial refrigeration
From cold rooms to bottle coolers, display cabinets and other food service applications, Danfoss says it will present a wide range of components that address themes like sustainability, efficiency, food safety, reliability and connectivity.
Special highlights are the latest compressors, condensers, controllers, and valves approved for use with lower GWP refrigerants R448A, R449A and R452A.
A special mention is given to the new ERC21x range of smart multi-purpose refrigeration controllers, said to be compatible with a wide range of sensors and featuring pre-defined programmes for the most typical applications in cold counters, cold rooms, display cases and other stand-alone refrigeration applications.
Another new item at Chillventa 2016 will be the new electric ERV solenoid valve developed to achieve even higher performance and reliability. With the new EVR optimised for pressures up to 45bar, Danfoss says customers can meet several needs with fewer models reducing the number of parts. The controller helps achieve high energy efficiency due to a defrost-on-demand function and built-in smart evaporator fan management.
Food retail
In the food retail section of the stand Danfoss will reveal the potential for its Smart Store solution in terms of enhanced food safety, low energy consumption, integrated control of refrigeration, HVAC, lighting, smart grid integration and CO2 refrigeration.
Special highlights will be the complete Danfoss portfolio for CO2 refrigeration, including the brand new ejector technology that opens new doors to highly efficient transcritical refrigeration in warmer climates. Also on display will be the VLT refrigeration drive with improved functions tailored to refrigeration reducing energy consumption by up to 25 %.
Industrial refrigeration
The Danfoss stand presents the industry’s widest portfolio of valve stations, ICF, ranging from DN15 to DN80 and with 3, 4 and six modules in carbon steel or stainless steel. A new range of pilot valves working with ammonia and CO2 is also introduced covering a wide range of pressures and temperatures.

Air conditioning
Special highlights for air conditioning systems are next generation scroll compressors and the extended range of oil-free Turbocor compressors for more capacity options.
ETS Colibri, designed for precise liquid injection into evaporators, is also on display, together with the new EKE superheat controller. The EKE is said to provide a best-in-class MSS algorithm for optimal superheat control, with both products addressing efficiency and low-GWP challenges.
The extended range of the Danfoss Micro-Plate heat exchangers (MPHE) with four new additions complete the Danfoss offering for air conditioning at Chillventa 2016.
