Vaillant redesigns AroTherm Plus heat pump

GERMANY: A redesigned AroTherm Plus air-to-water heat pump is set to be launched by Vaillant in Germany and Austria this month.

The new generation of R290 models are said to have improved efficiencies and further reduced noise levels compared to current models.

Presented in a new black/gray design, the redesigned AroTherm Plus models will be available in sizes from 3kW to 12kW.

The AroTherm Plus is suitable for both new buildings and the modernisation of existing single-family homes and smaller apartment buildings.

In addition to a five-year warranty, Vaillant is initially offering digital services for the AroTherm Plus heat pump in Germany, which can significantly reduce operating costs. OptimizationPLUS continuously checks and analyzes the current operating parameters of a heating system. If necessary, the heat pump parameters are automatically adjusted and individually tailored to the property and its users. According to Vaillant, this can reduce energy consumption by up to 15%.

The smart, cloud-based energy management system EnergiePLUS ensures that the heat pump proactively uses self-generated photovoltaic power. Alternatively, in combination with a dynamic electricity tariff, EnergiePLUS can identify the lowest electricity market prices and shift the heat pump’s operation to the most favorable time slots.
