York air-cooled chiller on R1234ze

USA: Johnson Controls is set to launch its first air-cooled variable speed screw chiller on the low GWP HFO refrigerant R1234ze(E).

Manufactured in Europe, the York YGT chiller will be available in a high efficiency (HE) version with one VSD and an extra high efficiency (XHE) model with two VSDs.

The range, which covers models up to 1MW, boasts high efficiencies with SEER’s up to 5.12, and sound power levels as low as 94dBA.

The latest technology is standard including EC fans, a refrigerant leak detector, and compressor acoustic enclosure. It has a dual inverter option for Extra High efficiency.

Its small footprint is complemented by options including full heat recovery and integrated hydronic kits.

The chillers employ Johnson Controls’ proven microchannel condenser coil, with easy-clean, parallel-flow aluminium alloy tubes. A range of robust coating options help increase reliability and durability in harsh environments are also available.

The HE models will be available in cooling capacities of 401kW to 983kW and XHE versions from 416kW to 983kW.
