York screw chiller now available in US on R1234ze

USA: Johnson Controls has launched an air-cooled variable speed drive screw chiller, the first in the USA to offer the low GWP HFO refrigerant R1234ze.

In addition to the use of R1234ze, the York YVAA Style B features next generation condenser coils to minimise refrigerant quantity and further reduce its carbon footprint. Special features include a newly designed compressor to optimise part-load efficiency and series flow evaporators coupled with falling film technology to help increase performance.

YVAA Style B chillers are equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, allowing reliable operation for a wide range of -10ºF to 130ºF ambient temperatures. YVAA Style B can reach capacity ranges spanning from 100TR to 400TR for comfort cooling applications, and 200TR to 500TR compatible with data centre mission critical requirements.

A configurable design meets stringent data centre requirements of higher leaving water temperatures up to 75ºF.
