Flammable refrigerants explained

DENMARK: Danfoss is to tackle the topic of flammable refrigerants in the next of its RETHINK Live series of virtual events.

The webinar on Tuesday, May 5, will discuss whether flammable refrigerants are truly necessary and why non-flammable options cannot always be used instead. It will explain the differences between mildly and highly flammable refrigerants, clarify what this means in practice regarding safety requirements, including ATEX, and address whether F-gas regulations still need to be considered when moving to flammable refrigerants.

In addition, the webinar will look at the availability of products using flammable refrigerants, which applications and solutions they can be used in today and what to consider when implementing them in practice.

The speakers, Torben Funder-Kristensen, Danfoss’ head of industry affairs climate solutions, and Jörg Saar global applications manager, will explain the core principles of A3 refrigerant system design, dispel common misconceptions about ATEX components in refrigeration system design, and discuss how to ensure staff is trained and certified to use flammable refrigerants safely.
