Lord Haughey to open Beijer Ref training academy

UK: Lord William Haughey, chair of City Facilities Management, is to officially open Beijer Ref’s third training academy, in Glasgow, on 6 November.

Building on the success of its existing academies in Wetherby and Preston, the Glasgow launch forms part of the wholesale group’s strategic plan to offer convenient top-level training to engineers across the UK.

The event, which coincides with the IOR Scotland Annual Dinner in Glasgow the same evening, will run from 12:00 to 16:00. It includes a buffet lunch and allows plenty of time for guests to explore the academy.

Competitions at 14:00 and 15:00 will test visitors’ knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning, with Apple Watches awarded to the winners.

Hayley Cattell, MD of Beijer Ref UK, said: “We are always striving to improve industry standards and Glasgow will join our other academies in providing high quality training on the latest systems. The ultimate target is for no engineer to be more than two hours away from expert guidance.”

A wide range of sustainable heating and cooling training rigs will be on display, with a training room dedicated to renewable technology including CO2 and A2L systems and a dedicated heat pump training area covering the latest heating products. A 25% reduction in prices will be applied to all training courses booked on the day.

Anyone interested in attending should register their interest at info@beijerrefacademy.co.uk.

The new academy address is 140, St Andrews Road, Glasgow G41 1PP.
