Webinar explores new efficiency policies

ITALY: Carel is to host a free-to-register webinar on the subject of the revised European energy performance of buildings directive (EPBD) and the new eco-design regulation (ESPR).

The webinar will dive into the key aspects of the new policies: Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EU) 2024/1275, which became effective from 28 May last year, and the Eco-design for Sustainable Products Regulation (EU) 2024/1781 which came into force on 18 July 2024.

The revised EPBD introduces new requirements to improve energy efficiency in buildings, promoting the creation of zero-emission buildings and encouraging the use of smart technologies to monitor and reduce consumption. Meanwhile, the ESPR broadens the eco-design concept, requiring life cycle analysis and sustainability criteria to reduce overall environmental impact, while also improving efficiency and lowering buildings’ carbon footprint.

The event focuses on enhancing the performance of both new and existing buildings, with a particular emphasis on sustainability and indoor air quality efficiency. It will provide practical insights into the implications of these new regulations, combining an informative lecture with a fun quiz, offering prizes for participants.

The interactive webinar titled New efficiency policies for products and buildings in the EU will be conducted in English and be held on 20 February from 10:00 to 11:00 CET.
