ADA appoints Eaton-Smith as technical project director

UK: Abbey Design Associates (ADA), the Cheltenham-based refrigeration design and project management consultancy, has appointed Conor Eaton-Smith as its new technical project director.

A chartered engineer, Eaton-Smith joins ADA from Surrey-based refrigeration consultancy K2 Engineering (Cooling), where he spent 11 years, latterly as technical director.

His role involved focusing on low total cost of ownership systems, leading on the roll out of trans critical CO2 for distribution centres, new builds, extensions and conversions.

Prior to K2 Engineering, Eaton-Smith spent two years as a refrigeration design engineer at WR Refrigeration and a similar amount of time at Arctic Circle as technical sales manager..

In his role at ADA, Eaton-Smith will lead the CAD and design teams, oversee major projects, and explore emerging technologies to deliver greater value for customers.

ADA MD Chris Chisman, describing the appointment as “a major coup”, said: “His two decades of expertise in refrigeration design and project delivery bring exceptional depth to our team and strengthen our ability to serve customers across every sector. Conor’s track record in pioneering low-cost, sustainable solutions will be invaluable as we continue to push for innovation, efficiency, and environmental responsibility in refrigeration design.”
