Daikin UK moves distribution to Daventry

UK: Daikin UK is to open a new 240,000ft2 distribution warehouse in Daventry in partnership with logistics company GXO.

Located in the heart of the logistics “golden triangle” in the Midlands, Daikin and GXO have jointly invested over £4m to consolidate their Aylesford and Manchester operations into one facility.

The warehouse will exclusively serve Daikin in the UK for all products and spares. It provides Daikin the ability to scale up its operations, moving from several GXO Direct shared user warehouse sites, into one consolidated site.

The full transition from the current operation to the new warehouse will happen during the course of this year and create over 75 new jobs.

GXO has worked with Daikin for more than 17 years in the UK, Ireland and Italy, and continues to provide the flexible space and tailored solutions for the HVAC sector.

Describing the move as a great leap forward, Daikin UK’s head of operations Sherin Hammad said: “The market for heat pumps and commercial HVAC products is growing fast, and as such, we must have the capability to keep up with this.”
