Heat pump training passes up 14%

UK: The number of those successfully completing UK heat pump training qualifications in the year to the end of June rose by 14% compared to the same period last year.

Latest figures from the Heat Pump Association (HPA) show that 2,405 individuals successfully completed a heat pump training qualification in Q2 2024, pushing the total to 4,875 for the year so far.

Q2 2024 heat pump qualification data demonstrates increasing levels of interest in heat pump training in the UK, with just over 2,400 individuals successfully completing a heat pump training qualification in Q2 2024. This was a 37% increase on Q2 2023 and pushes the total for the year so far to 4,875.

The HPA data is based on the number of individuals who have successfully completed one of the Heat Pump training courses that are eligible for the UK’s Heat Training Grant.

“The steady growth in people successfully completing heat pump training courses reflects the increasing recognition and value given to heat pumps as a key technology in the UK’s transition to net zero. The rise in qualified individuals year on year solidifies the efforts of training providers to meet the demand of up-skilling the workforce to support the growing market,” commented HPA Training Working Group chair Laura Thomas.
