Hoshizaki goes hydrocarbon

Hoshizaki's hydrocarbon refrigerated IM-240ANE-HCUK: Ice maker manufacturer Hoshizaki has taken the hydrocarbon plunge with its first cube machine to use the low GWP refrigerant.

The introduction of the IM-240ANE-HC is one of the few ice makers employing hydrocarbon refrigerants available in the UK.

The high capacity machine is said to be targeted primarily at larger outlets under pressure to demonstrate environmental awareness and realise major energy and water savings.

The use of propane is said to reduce energy consumption by approximately 20%. The IM-240ANE-HC can produce 210kg of ice per 24 hours and is said to be capable of operating continuously at temperatures of up to 40ºC.
