Hubbard expands design team

UK: Ipswich-based refrigeration system manufacturer Hubbard Products has expanded its design department with the appointment of Christy Sebastian as electrical design manager.

Sebastian joins Hubbard from Babcock International, having previously spent eight years at the now defunct refrigeration system manufacturer Arctic Circle, where he started as an apprentice and worked his way up to electrical engineer.

He joins Hubbard’s design team of twelve engineers. The team also includes senior design engineer Rasmi Rajan who joined the company last year but recently transitioned to electrical design.

Rasmi joined the team as a refrigeration design engineer having previously worked with Carter Synergy and Clade Engineering. Before joining the refrigeration industry, she was an assistant professor in electrical and electronics engineering in India, holding a master’s degree in power electronics.

The expansion of the design team strengthens Hubbard’s expertise as the company continues to grow its presence in Europe, the USA and the Middle East where additional electrical design resources have become essential.

To meet industry regulations in the USA, both Christy Sebastian and Rasmi Rajan successfully completed their UL certification – in a record time of just one week.

With Hubbard pushing forward in product development, the company is also integrating AI and machine learning into its units, collaborating closely with development teams at parent company Daikin in Osaka.
