HVACR was highest-earning UK sector

UK: HVAC and refrigeration has been identified as the highest-earning trade sector over the last 12 months, rising 17% on average to £428,529.

In addition to HVAC and Refrigeration, the new survey from job management software company Tradify compares trades including property maintenance, electrical and AV, landscaping and lawns, plumbing and gas, and carpentry and renovations.

Overall, the findings highlight a strong and growing trade industry, with several sectors achieving substantial revenue growth year-on-year.

HVAC and refrigeration was identified as the highest-earning trade sector, followed by property maintenance (£345,392) and electrical & AV (£283,176).

The HVAC and refrigeration sector was divided into three company sizes. Sole traders earned £184,566, according to Tradify, small companies of 2-4 people, £377,534, and medium-sized companies of 5-12 people, £1,225,248.

The new data was collected from a sample of more than 3,271 UK trade businesses using Tradify’s job management software platform, between 1 June 2024 and 31 May 2026.
