Luke Haile has WorldSkills medal upgraded to silver

UK: Luke Haile, the UK’s bronze medal winner in the refrigeration and air conditioning category at WorldSkills in Lyon in September, has had his medal upgraded to silver.

Following the release of results for the competition, which saw Kang Ruan of China and Sz-Yuan Chen of Chinese Taipei being awarded joint gold medals, WorldSkills UK submitted an appeal. 

The WorldSkills Board has now upheld that appeal, changing the medal awarded to the UK from bronze to silver.

The basis of the appeal has not been revealed. The Cooling Post has approached both WorldSkills and WorldSkills UK for comment.
