Nicholls steps up at BESA
22nd June 2025
UK: The Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) has appointed Jill Nicholls as director of competence and compliance. She replaces Helen Yeulet who moves to a new position as strategic consultant.
Nicholls steps up from her role as head of service development, were she was responsible for driving up standards in skills and training across the BESA membership. She joined BESA last year after seven years at the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education where she rose to become head of construction and transport. She was previously employed by the Education Development Trust.
Yeulet’s new position as strategic consultant will see her focusing on key industry-wide projects and government skills policy. Through deeper engagement with government, she will seek to raise the profile of building services and ensure the industry is a key part of wider skills policy initiatives. The role will also include applying for grant funding and developing the wider remit of the industry’s umbrella skills bodies.
