REFCOM membership reaches 9,000

UK: F-gas certification body REFCOM has registered its 9,000th member, a milestone which it says reflects rising levels of best practice across the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump industries.

Originally established in 1994 as a voluntary registration scheme, REFCOM became a mandatory certification body when the UK adopted the European F-gas regulation in 2009.

According to Jill Nicholls, director of competence and compliance at the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA), which operates the register, REFCOM was now focused on reaching the 10,000 member milestone.

“This milestone reflects the growing professionalism of the RACHP sector and the trust that businesses place in REFCOM,” she said.

Nicholls added that REFCOM’s ongoing investment in digital tools, training partnerships, and its Elite Membership scheme offered further practical support to contractors beyond certification.
