REFCOM’s Welplan scheme adds benefits

UK: REFCOM, the F-gas certification body, has launched a new partnership with Welplan to help members with employee recruitment and retention.

The new initiative follows a member survey conducted at the end of 2025, which revealed that 70% of REFCOM members want more support with recruitment and retention. In response, REFCOM has introduced a practical, cost-effective solution that directly supports both employers and their teams.

REFCOM says that the new offering is designed to help its members protect and support the people who keep Britain cool, while also tackling one of the industry’s biggest challenges, recruiting and retaining skilled engineers.

“Our research showed that recruitment and retention is a major concern, so we have focused on delivering something that genuinely helps,” said Jill Nicholls, REFCOM’s director of competence and compliance. “As part of our Keep Your Cool, We’ve Got Your Back campaign, this is about giving our members practical tools to look after their teams, strengthen their businesses, and stand out as employers of choice.”

Available from around £7 per employee per week, the Welplan packages provide businesses with a way to offer meaningful protection, including death benefit cover, permanent disability protection, accidental injury benefits, and weekly sick pay support.
