Royal Engineer Jervis wins WorldSkills UK gold

UK: Isaac Jervis of the Royal Engineers won the gold medal in the Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps category at this year’s WorldSkills UK National Finals.
The event, last week, saw more than 400 finalists competing across over 40 different skill categories, at venues across Wales.
The Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump finals at Cardiff and Vale College, also saw Samuel Jones of Industrial Cooling Equipment and a student at the Practical Refrigeration Training Centre win silver. The bronze medal went to Craig Gow of Glasgow Kelvin College and Cool Cair Refrigeration. A highly commended medal was also presented to Evan Jones of Lightfoot Defence and City of Portsmouth College.
Competitors in WorldSkills UK who achieve above average scores will now be considered for the UK’s international squad preparing to compete at the 2028 Skills Olympics in Aichi, Japan.
The sector’s involvement was organised by the Building Engineering Services Association and is sponsored by the F-gas registration company REFCOM and UK heat pump manufacturer Baxi.
