SBS opens locations in Hull and Exeter

The new Hull (left) and Exeter branches

UK: HVAC merchant Smith Brothers Stores (SBS) has continued its expansion with new branches in Hull and Exeter.

The two new locations follows the opening of SBS Dundee earlier this year and brings the number of company branches to 20.

The 19,500ft2 SBS Hull unit is situated on the Sutton Fields Industrial Estate on the A1165 leading into the centre of Hull.

Added to its locations in Leeds and Sheffield, SBS perceives the Hull branch as forming a “golden triangle” across Yorkshire, providing better branch access to northern customers and improved movement of stock around each location.

Branch manager is Steve Walmsley, who has previously worked at both BSS and Wolseley in his 35-year career. Steve brings with him a significant amount of wealth of experience, and knowledge of distribution and building services products.

SBS Exeter becomes Smith Brothers’ most southernly location, sitting in the M5 corridor going into Devon and Cornwall. This 18,000ft2 unit is located on the Sowton Industrial Estate, offering prime access to J29 on the M5 and road networks leading into the centre of Exeter.

The branch is managed by Geoff Dove, who has over 30 years of industry expertise. He previously worked as branch manager at BSS Plymouth, Exeter and Romford branches. Over the past two years he has worked as BSS national hire manager.
