Steve Gill to stand again for IOR president

UK: Former Institute of Refrigeration president Steve Gill is to stand again for the role having been named as one of three nominations for the position of president-elect.

The founder of World Refrigeration Day has been nominated along with Sainsbury’s refrigeration engineering design manager Paul Arrowsmith and Star Refrigeration’s group sales and marketing director Rob Lamb. Steve Gill previously served as IOR president from 2016-2018.

The three were chosen from 13 eligible members considered for the role  by the IOR nominations committee. 

Members can now propose their own candidates for the role. Details of the requirements for additional member candidates can be found on the IOR website. Closing date is noon on 29 August. 

Voting opens in September and results will be announced at the AGM on 29 October.

Once appointed, the president-elect will work with the current IOR president Lisa-Jayne Cook in her role as chair of the IOR board of trustees until her term ends next year.
