Three nominated for IOR board

UK: IOR members Rob Lamb of Star Refrigeration, Denise O’Connor of Lightfoot Defence and Sam Parris of WAVE have been nominated for two vacancies on the Institute’s board of trustees.

The Institute’s board of trustees is responsible to the membership, company law and to the Charity Commission for its effective governance.  

Robert Lamb is group sales and marketing director at Star Refrigeration, has worked in the refrigeration industry for over 30 years and has been with Star since 1998. He has previously served the Institute as both a trustee and membership committee chair.

Denise O’Connor will be less well-known to the membership but has been with Lightfoot Defence for five years as HR manager and executive support. She is currently a member of the IOR’s finance committee.

The third nomination is Sam Parris, business development manager at WAVE Engineering, who has 20 years experience in the industry. Parris has served the Institute as chair of the membership elections committee and through contributions to the policy committee, IOR Dinner committee, and membership retention and growth committee.

There are up to ten members of the board, comprising the president, president-elect, immediate past president and treasurer and six elected members. Elected members normally serve for three years. 

The results of the elections will be announced at the IOR’s AGM on 10 November.
