Top engineer Linda McVittie retires

UK: Linda McVittie, technical applications manager for J & E Hall, retires today after nearly 40 years in the refrigeration industry.

A fellow of the Institute of Refrigeration and a chartered engineer, Linda McVittie was named as one of the Top 50 Women in Engineering by the Women’s Engineering Society in 2021. She was also the first woman to chair the Scottish Branch of the Institute of Refrigeration.

Joining Star Refrigeration in 1990 as a sales office administrator, she combined work with studies, achieving a BSc in Building Services Engineering to become a technical sales engineer. After more than 18-years with Star, McVittie had spells with Johnson Controls and Trane, before joining J & E Hall in 2013.
