Wolseley opens Darlington fulfilment centre

UK: The Wolseley Group has opened its new 10,000m2 fulfilment centre on the new North East logistics park in Darlington.

Wolseley says that the Darlington facility provides a specialist fulfilment capability for larger and more complex products such as air-source heat pumps, and will facilitate delivery at scale for both existing and new contract customers and large‑project customers.

The new centre is based on Wolseley’s Measham distribution centre, which was remodelled last year to meet rising demand for low carbon heating solutions. Together, the two sites form part of Wolseley’s long‑term infrastructure strategy designed to expand specialist capacity, improve resilience across the supply chain and support customers.

Woleseley says that this approach strengthens its ability to support complex renewables installations, while freeing branches to focus on serving local trade customers with speed, expertise and availability.

Designed to BREEAM Excellent and EPC A standards, the facility incorporates air-source heat pumps and photovoltaic-ready roofs, allowing for future installation of 100% solar panels. It includes two level doors and eight dock loading doors.
