AC unit falls 28 storeys, injures 10
USA: An air conditioning unit being craned onto the roof of a building in New York City has fallen 28 storeys, injuring 10 people.
According to reports, the crane was lifting the unit onto an office building on Madison Avenue yesterday morning when the rigging strap broke. The unit plummeted to the ground, repeatedly striking the side of the building, breaking windows, and landed in the street below.
Two workers and eight passers-by suffered minor injuries from falling debris. Investigations into the cause of the incident have already begun.
