Acquisition strengthens Epta’s Polish presence

ITALY: Commercial refrigeration equipment manufacturer Epta SpA has acquired Linus Eco, its long-standing sales partner in Poland.

Linus Eco offers planning, installation and after sales service for refrigeration systems in the food sector, including CO2 systems. Based in Bosutów, in the district of Kraków, the company is described as a trusted partner to the main players in the Polish food retail sector.

ETA says the acquisition is part of its growth strategy, strengthening its presence in regions with high development potential through its own locations. This latest move follows the establishment of  Epta Polska in 2017 following Epta’s acquisition of its Polish distributor Libre.

“Epta Polska and Linus have both benefited greatly from their cooperation in recent years, and now we will be pooling our respective competencies in a common team,” Linus said in a company statement.

Epta Group president and CEO Marco Nocivelli said that the acquisition would enables the two companies to be more competitive together and closer to its customers in Poland.

“This acquisition also shows that Epta is determined to strengthen its presence in Central and Eastern European countries, and we founded Epta International in 2011, a technical and commercial coordination centre in Hungary, Libre in Poland in 2017 and the Romanian company DAAS continued this strategy in 2018.

“Thanks to the expertise of Linus, the Epta Group will be able to maintain its market share in a region where high growth margins are expected,” he added.
