USA/KOREA: The America Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Association (AHRI) has signed a co-operation agreement with the Korea Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association (KRAIA).

The agreement will promote the development of product certification and conformity with HVACR standards. The two organisations will form a working-level meeting and regularly discuss the development of bilateral standards and certifications.

KRAIA, which represents more than 150 Korean companies, plans to develop domestic standards by conforming to or referencing AHRI standards. Initially, three AHRI standards are being enacted as Korean national standards: AHRI 921 Performance Rating of Direct Expansion-Dedicated Outdoor Air System Units; ANSI/AHRI 1351 Mechanical Performance Rating of Central Station Air-handling Unit Casings and AHRI 740 Performance Rating of Refrigerant Recovery Equipment and Recovery/Recycling Equipment.
