The new office was inaugurated in an official ceremony held at the headquarters of the Jebel Ali Free Trade Zone Authority (JAFZA)

USA: Bristol Compressors, the Virginia-based hermetic compressor manufacturer, has opened a new sales office in Dubai.

The new location in the Jebel Ali Free Trade Zone is expected to allow Bristol Compressors to better serve customers in the Middle East region.

The operation will be headed by Joe Thomas as general manager of Bristol Compressors Middle East and North Africa. Joe’s career is marked by years of senior-level management experience within the air conditioning and refrigeration industry, having previously worked for Carrier, Sporlan and Regal Beloit.

With the Middle East recognised as a strategic market for the company, director of international sales Chris Robinson said: “As the region focuses on increased energy efficiency and environmentally-friendly refrigerants, Bristol Compressors is well positioned to serve these requirements.”

Bristol Compressors president and ceo Ed Gniewek added: “The Middle East air-conditioning market is changing at a quick pace.  We know it is critical to have a full-time presence in the region to ensure the highest level of customer service and responsiveness to market needs. Bristol Compressors sees the ongoing market changes as an opportunity for growth and the Dubai staff will be a key part of our future success.”

Headquartered in Bristol, Virginia, Bristol Compressors develops and manufactures hermetic compressors for residential and light commercial air conditioning, heat pump and refrigeration applications.
