Bulgarian customs seize nearly 13,000kg of R134a

BULGARIA: Customs officials at Kapitan Andreevo in southern Bulgaria on the border with Turkey have reported a seizure of 12,977kg of R134a refrigerant.

The smuggled goods were discovered last week following a customs inspection of a truck entering the country from Turkey, driven by a Turkish citizen.

The refrigerant in disposable cylinders was found concealed between the goods declared – auto parts.

Both the smuggled goods and the truck were seized. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated against the smuggler.
