Carel to extend US factory

USA: Italian controls and humidification company Carel has broken ground on a 35,000ft² (3,252m²) extension to its US production plant in Manheim, Pennsylvania.
The US plant expansion plan, which will more than double the production area to 70,000ft² (6,503m²), is part of a global organic expansion strategy, involving mainly the US, Europe and China.
Carel sees the US expansion as a means to increase its US market share, avoiding bottlenecks and improving logistics.
“The extension of the plant of Manheim follows the implementation, in the same plant, of the first US programmable controller production line, completed last summer, and shows the interest of the Group to the North American market,” said Carel CEO Francesco Nalini. “We expect this country to represent a significant accelerator for Carel’s growth, which will be based on innovation, energy efficiency and customer care,” he added.
The building expansion work is expected to be completed by mid 2019.
