Carrier 1233zd chiller wins enviro award

Chong Wai Yen (3rd from left), managing director of Carrier Singapore, accepts the environmental award

SINGAPORE: Carrier’s AquaEdge chiller using low GWP refrigerant R1233zd has won a top environmental award in Singapore.

The US manufacturer’s AquaEdge 19DV centrifugal chiller, launched last year, won the 2018 SEC-Senoko Green Innovation Award from the Singapore Environment Council (SEC) at the Singapore Environmental Achievement Awards (SEAA).

This award focuses on innovative developments and design of both existing and newly introduced technologies, and honours companies that reduce the environmental impact of products, improve resource efficiency and/or promote the use of alternate technologies and processes.

In addition to the use of a low GWP refrigerant, the AquaEdge 19DV centrifugal chiller offers high efficiency thanks to its two-stage compressor and Greenspeed intelligence variable frequency drive.
