Chemours boosted by Opteon refrigerant sales

USA: Strong adoption of lower GWP Opteon refrigerants and increased demand for fluoropolymers products saw Chemours Fluoroproducts division increase sales by 8% in 2018 to $2.9bn.
Higher average prices of its fluoropolymer products and base refrigerants were said to have been partially offset by a lower average price of Opteon mobile refrigerants. These factors contributed to a 17% increase in segment adjusted EBITDA to $783m in comparison to $669 million in 2017.
This contributed to the total $6.6bn of net sales (up 7%) reported across the group activities of Fluoroproducts, Chemical Solutions and Titanium Technologies.
