Daikin Q1 sales up 13.1%

JAPAN: Daikin has reported sales of JPY1,094,715m (US$7,552m) in the first quarter (April 1 to June 30), an increase of 13.1% on last year.

Operating income was JPY117,884m (US$813m), up 9.3% year-on-year.

Total sales for the air conditioning and chiller business segment – its largest business sector – increased 13.8% to JPY1,011,840m (US$6,981m). 

High inflation affected the market in Europe, sales exceeded the same period last year while material supply problems eased. Residential air conditioning equipment sales increased in France and Spain supported by rising temperatures.

Sales of residential heat pump hot water heating equipment increased year on year in Europe, as did sales of commercial air conditioning equipment.
