Daikin reports record half-year sales
6th November 2026
JAPAN: Daikin has announced record sales of JPY2,910.7bn (US$18.39bn) for the six-month period to the end of September, a 17.4% increase boosted by demand from Europe.
Net profit was JPY172.9bn (US$1.1bn), a 7.5% increase on the same period last year – another record high for an interim period.
The company’s performance was also boosted by a surge in demand ahead of new expected increases in energy efficiency standards expected to be introduced in Japan next year.
In Europe, total regional revenue significantly exceeded that of the same period of the previous year. For residential air conditioning equipment, heatwaves in the latter halves of May and June drove increased demand in France, the UK, Germany, and Belgium.
Demand grew for residential heat-pump-based water heating and space heating systems, due to rising gas prices – exacerbated by the situation in the Middle East – and the EU’s electrification action plan.
The commercial air conditioning segment saw increased sales of R32 equipment. The applied air conditioning equipment segment also experienced significant revenue growth, driven by rising demand from data centres.
